V For Vendeta Telesync
Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V For Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante known only as “V.” Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he detonates two London landmarks and takes over the government-controlled airwaves, urging his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V’s mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself - and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plot to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption.

Future Superstar
Hate having to give up those powerlunches with Natalie!11:47 My agent calls and asks if I can audition for a guest spot on Day's of Our Lives tommorrow. I grudgingly agree knowing that it will make me late for my power lunch with Natalie Portman, and you know how I hate to keep her waiting.

Amos Gitai? No Thanks!
Anyway, last night we finished seeing the movie Kippur directed by Amos Gitai. This is the second Gitai movie we’ve seen (Alila was the previous one we saw), and it seems to follow the same style that Alila has. According to what I read about his latest movie Free Zone it seems all his movies use the same techniques. The movie uses very long takes, like a 7 minute scene where four soldiers try to pick up a wounded soldier from the mud. This film (and Alila) too are filled with long pointless scenes that mid-way through them you ask yourself “why does he need to have them this long?”. Even “Free Zone” starts with a 6 minute closeup of Natalie Portman’s crying.

Review: Garden State
Garden state I liked, and despite it's protestations of coolness and youth appeal it is nowt but a romantic comedy (I will watch it again though). It had some great scenes and looked pretty good. Natalie Portman was excellent but the true star however was zach Braff who wrote, directed and starred in this film. Definately one to recommend, and the soundtrack was pretty good too.

Why Does Natalie Change Her Hair So Much?
Closer first. It left me sad, but I like sad things so that didn’t detract from its goodness. It’s a rather complex movie; I don’t mean necessarily in terms of plot, as it wasn’t hard to follow, but a lot happens between the four characters and — to me — a lot is left unanswered. For example, why does Natalie Portman change her hair so much? But seriously, in the end I wasn’t sure who had lied about what, and whether it really mattered. I think it’s worth watching.

Natalie Portman Replaced
Also, I went and saw Wedding Crashers earlier. My god, funniest movie I’ve ever seen. The plot was really planned out, and everything was really done well. Thankfully, the movie has made it’s money back, which I think is awesome for the people involved in this movie. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn just did an amazing job. However, Rachel McAdams may be the most lovely woman in Hollywood now. A few months ago, I made a proclamation that Natalie Portman was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on (besides my mother), but Rachel McAdams has taken that spot.

Natalie Portman: The Dark Side
It’s become apparent that Natalie Portman, a once-promising young starlet with both beauty and some measure of poise and self-possession, has gone completely over to the Dark Side. I am referring not only to her lewd behavior in Mike Nichols’ Closer, or to her weird John Kerry T-shirts, but to the sort of political hysteria both George Lucas and now the Wachowski brothers have enabled her to mouth.

Clincher
The clincher came with a line delivered with suitable aplomb by the beautifully beastly Owen (of Natalie Portman's character): "She has the moronic beauty of youth, but she's sly."

Trying To Get To Live 8
So, I’m supposed to be at Live 8 Philly right now. I was all set, all hyped up about it. I have two sisters who are all into music and stuff. One has to work and the other blows me off to go boating. I tried my sister-in-law but she is working too. I tried my best friend from highschool who I am always looking for an excuse to hang out with. She is heading down to the beach for the weekend. I tried my other friends. They are all too scared of the crowds or, like Sharon who is not afraid of anything, are out of town. I even tried co-workers and no one voluntarily hangs out with co-workers. See how desperate I am? No one can or wants to go. They think it’s going to be too crazy. I think that I’m going to miss Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Destiny’s Child, Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Will Smith, Sarah McLachlan, Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, Rob Thomas, Linkin Park, Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West, Toby Keith, Def Leppard, Jars of Clay, Keith Urban, Josh Groban, and P Diddy. My husband told me that as long as I could find someone willing to go with me that he will watch the kids so I can go. When I couldn’t find someone to go with me he told me to just go by myself. He was even going to buy me tickets on the Amtrak that would let me off right at the concert venue. He’s so sweet.

My Take On Revenge Of The Sith
Natalie Portman’s acting. She had maybe one scene where she actually seemed to act. The scene in the Senate with Jimmy Smits. Otherwise she just seemed to be phoning it in.

Attack on the Clones
In my opinion the movie was a delight. Excellent plot, exceptional acting, mind-blowing pod race, Natalie Portman, and an awesome light saber duel. I did have the advantage of seeing the movie after being familiarized with episodes 2,3 though. Attack of the Clones (2) still remains the disappointment featuring the whinny Aniken Skywalker who looks more like Nick Carter from the backstreet boys, with a voice that could never compare to the great Lord Vader.

Review: Closer
Natalie Portman was amazing as Alice (and she looks pretty good as a blonde, we were all surprised to see), and Jude Law and Julia Roberts were fitting as the sad-sack characters, Dan and Anna.

V for Vendetta
From the people who brought you The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, etc., comes an adaptation of the comic V For Vendetta starring Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman. Set in futuristic 1997, V For Vendetta was originally published in the anthology magazine 2000AD, which also brought us Judge Dredd. What I want to know is when are we going to get the movie version of 2000AD's D.R. & Quinch?

Review: Episode III
Very interesting. In Sith, Lucas had a genuinely talented cast, and he almost entirely failed to use them properly. You can almost see the anguish in Natalie Portman's eyes as she forces herself to deliver her wooden, trite dialogue. Ewan McGregor is almost channeling the late, amazingly great Sir Alec Guinness, but the script never quite gives him what he needs to reach the spot where he could really, truly own the part (and we all know he could have). Samuel L. Jackson? Well, I can't even write about how badly Lucas flubbed the character arc on Mace Windu.

Review: Closer
Given the Flea's ongoing reportage of cutting edge keep fit trends and coverage of the latest in popular film it only seemed wise to link to these clips of Natalie Portman pole dancing in the film "Closer". I doubt I shall ever see the movie myself as it looks to be more an exercise in existential frustration than an exercise in keeping fit. Jude Law and Clive Owen also feature.

Review: Garden State
Basically another finding one’s self / romance movie. It is kinda strange, natalie portman plays a kinda plain looking but extremely charming love interest. It didn’t really follow much of the standard plot lines. Extremely well done. Note it was quite edgy so i’m not going to ‘recommend it’ per ce. Zach Braff (Scrubs guy) wrote it and starred in it, definately one of my new favorite actor guys. The title refers to New Jersey which is pretty lame. But maybe it has a deeper meaning and refers to the main character’s...

Review: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
And what about the movie? It blew me away :) Even my friend thought it's a good movie. It was soo much better compared to the total crap of Episode I and II. Much better than I expected, or maybe I don't really have that much of expectation. The movie is action packed, full with fight scenes, a tad too much maybe. I remember being bored a bit watching yet another light saber fight. No corny lines from Anakin to Padme, no weird hairdo on Natalie Portman trying distract the movie goers from realising that the movie was crap (Episode I & II) and thank...
