Review: Syriana
Syriana is the worst of three in term of enjoyment. I mean, the plot is slow, the storytelling is half-hearted, and the climax is questionable. Still, it has guts to tell about oil-related conspiracy and it has Matt Damon and George Clooney in it (together with a bunch of old, conspiracy type actors. It even has one negro actress that resembles Condoleeza "Moslemicide Mistress" Rice).

Review: Syriana
I’ve never been a fan of Matt Damon and after seeing Team America: World Police, I can’t watch him act without seeing his caricature from the film. But he was tolerable here. Clooney, who for so many of his films plays a character like his Dr. Ross character on ER, turns in a good performance here too. The rest of the cast turn in good performances.

Review: Syriana
This is fundementally flawed because of the mindnumbingly boring subject matter. Oil politics and corruption law. Zzzz. It probably would have made a better documentary(if you could pin down any of these stories or similar ones to make the connections about). Matt Damon’s character is a complete conundrum to me. I just don’t understand most of the choices they made with him, especially the stuff with his family(actually, the oddest choice of that is the only one I understood, the thing with his kid). Clooney’s storyline was probably the best, because it dealt with intrigue, torture, set ups and deals, and shady spy action in Lebanon as well as being fucked in the ass by the CIA and having clandestine meetings with threats being thrown around between the waitress dropping things off. The rest, I don’t know. It’s a terribly important subject matter, but much like Crash it bit off more than it could chew in the space of 2 hours. Maybe an ongoing HBO series you could have covered it all, but you only scratch the surface in 2 hours and bore the audience while you do it.

Review: The Brothers Grimm
I watched The Brothers Grimm today at the cinemas at Burwood. The movie was good, but Burwood is a hole. The movie has spunky Matt Damon and Heath Ledger in it, oh la la. Mark’s in love with Matt Damon now instead of the other dude, whatshisface…..can’t remember his name. I could google for it, but I’m not that interested in finding out.

Matt Damon's DNA For Sale
As of the writing of this post, you have 2 days 10 hrs left to bid on the remnants of a cream puff that Matt Damon supposedly ate plus the fork and plate he used. The seller suggests that DNA could theoretically be retrieved from these items and used for cloning another Matt Damon.

Lance On Film
Bike bloggers around the world are following the lead of BikeBiz in telling us (once again) that Lance's Life will hit the silver screen. Matt Damon wants to play Lance, and Matt is Lance's choice. Matt is into cycling. Matt is atthletic and disciplined. Matt and Lance are friends. Seems like a good fit. File this under "old news."

Tony Gilroy to Pen ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’
Matt Damon has publicly expressed interest in reprising his role as lead character Jason Bourne, but no deal is expected before Gilroy’s script is completed. Not surprisingly, no director has been tapped to helm the project at this time. (”Identity” was helmed by Doug Liman, while Paul Greengrass directed last year’s “Supremacy.”)

Boston Herald: "The Departed'' director Martin Scorsese plans to film in seven Boston neighborhoods - South Boston, Beacon Hill, Chinatown, Dorchester, Charlestown, Eastie and the North End - during the film's six weeks of filming. As you are well aware by now, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson are headed to the Hub for three weeks this month to shoot their set-in-Boston mob flick. They will return for three weeks in August. We are breathless with anticipation. ..

Review: Rounders
If you've been caught up in the poker craze that's swept significant parts of the nation in the past few years, you should watch this film. If you think a film starring Matt Damon and Edward Norton can't be all that bad, you're right. If you want a story with interesting characters and plot, well, this one's okay in those departments.

Advice For The Stars
It's worth what you paid for it!Why must this guy get married? Hey, I’m married, and its great. But Ben is just dying to get married. Why? Dude–you’re a multi-millionaire. Stop it. If you that lonely, get a huge place with Matt Damon, or your brother Casey if Matt can’t move in with you, or if he thinks you’re too annoying to live with.

Damon in Syriana
Today I alert your attention to writer/director Stephen Gaghan’s Syriana , starring George Clooney, Matt Damon ... Gaghan is most famous for writing Steven Soderbergh’s Traffic , for which Gaghan took home an Oscar. He’s also responsible for ruining … excuse me, writing the screenplay for the revisionist The Alamo that lost Disney a mountain of money.

Movie Review: Bourne Identity/Supremacy
Lumping these two flicks together for one rating is a bit unfair. Each of them is really good in its own right. Each of them is good enough to sit on the same shelf will all the great Clancy movies. (And Matt Damon is seriously threatening Harrison Ford, in my mind, for the perfect spy movie actor. Not overtaking, but threatening.) However, I do recommend watching the two in sequence to make them easier to follow, the same as I would recommend for the Lord of the Rings trilogy (even though it is a 15 hour marathon).

Review: Ocean's Twelve
Not every character is used enough. Bernie Mac appears for maybe ten minutes of the entire film, and everyone else besides Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones and George Clooney are horribly underused the entire film. Honestly, I could have really used a lot more of Casey Affleck. The guy is hilarious. Lucky enough for us, Matt Damon becomes our main character because he is quite funny as the new guy desperately trying to fit into a group he probably doesn’t belong in.

Review: Ocean's Twelve
what i liked a lot: matt damon so happily playing third fiddle, and a putz at that; elliott gould–did “ocean’s eleven” get him any more work? that’s about it–the heist stuff was uninvolving, the script not particularly witty, and it featured catherine zeta-jones (whose appeal continues to elude me). and i would like to point out that the theatrical trailer is NOT a “special” feature. unless that was a joke–if so, it might explain why i didn’t think the movie was a hoot.

Review: Good Will Hunting
From these quotes i can also say that love is from the heart and the mind is just what we use to read what is coming from the heart. Also the last one about letting go of fear, that works hand in hand with the movie i just watched, “Good Will Hunting”. The last scene when Sean (Robin Williams) is telling Will (Matt Damon) that all that has happened in his life is not his fault, he lets go of that fear and falls in love for the first time.

The Talented Mr Minghella
A sumptuously decorated and softly lit apartment. Two men with a deeply ambivalent relationship; one a gravel-voiced charmer, the other a slighter, twitchier character. Is the twitchy one as besotted with his better-looking 'friend' as he seems, or does he harbour more malevolent imaginings? Is that look one of adoring admiration, or is it a darker emotion, a black-hearted envy? Yes, it's the Matt Damon-Jude Law dynamic from Anthony Minghella's The Talented Mr Ripley. Minghella's latest work, incidentally, is

Guess Who is in Eurotrip
So, I was watching Eurotrip Unrated DVD last night. When who pops up in the movie but a shaved headed Matt Damon. We were watcing this very funny scene looking at this guy and were like that isn’t. No, that can’t be him. What the hell would be be doing in this movie. But it is. And I can’t get the damn song out of my head now. You know because Scotty doesn’t know, Scotty doesn’t know, Scotty doesn’t know, Scotty doesn’t know, get out of my freaking head…

Driving Matt Damon
I sooo want to go see Guess Who with Kristin tomorrow. Ashton Kutcher is sooo cute! W00t, I love how that’s the reason I want to go see the movie, because the movie itself didn’t look all that thrilling. What I can’t wait for is the Bourne Ultimatum with Matt Damon the hottie. *giggles* wow getting off track here. But that movie supposedly isn’t coming out until 2007, that sucks. By then I’ll be driving myself to the theatre! You know this whole driving thing gets better and better. I am 15 right now and won’t...
