Harrison Ford Or Your Husband
Definitely Harrison Ford! Oh, I was so in luuuv! I had a life-size poster of him in my bedroom. I’ve since taken that down per my husband’s request.

Contact Lists
Riya even recognizes faces in pictures on the wall behind your subjects. One of the funniest things happened when I uploaded our Christmas pictures. I was labeling my son’s picture in front of his new Millennium Falcon and his Star Wars action figures. Suddenly a little box appeared that said, “Who’s this?” — It was a picture of Harrison Ford as Han Solo that was part of the packaging on the Star Wars toys. Should I have added Han Solo or Harrison Ford to my contact list?

Review: Firewall
Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is a security expert working at a major bank devising firewalls that prevent thieves from stealing money online. Bill (Paul Bettany) comes with a proposition to the bank, which eventuates as a more personal one to Jack. Bill, along with his gang, kidnap Jack's wife and two children and hold them hostage. Jack is forced to electronically transfer funds from the bank for Bill, who knows what matters to Jack most. A battle of wits ensues between the men in which only one of them can come out alive.

Tech Writers
In the realm of tech-heavy novels I much prefer, say, Tom Clancy’s The Hunt For Red October where out main characters all have history and back story and motivation. (Ramius feels the Soviet Union was ultimately responsible for the death of his wife and that détente requires that nether side get ahead of the other in an arms race. Jack Ryan was basically an academic who found himself dropped into the middle of a very dangerous, very tense situation and told to prevent a war — all he really wanted to do was get home to his wife and daughter and get back to writing. It wasn’t until the later books that Ryan became a super hero and Harrison Ford had to take over the role.) However, that’s just the way I remember the books. Before I’d trust myself to write more than one paragraph on the topic I would have to read them again.

James Bond Vs. Indiana Jones
So, that’s why I cast my vote for Indiana Jones as the greater character, overall. However, of all the actors who have portrayed James Bond over the years, Sir Sean Connery is, by far, the greatest. No actor, not even the mighty Harrison Ford, will ever outshine the man who played the original James Bond.

Harrison Ford Movies
We saw Firewall, a thriller with Harrison Ford and Virginia Masden. I figured, how bad could this be? This is a movie about a big-time network security guy, so it had some geek interest for me. They did a nice job with the technology stuff, even using what appeared to be an actual Cisco router terminal screen in one close-up. Lots of Windows XP screens and Dell servers in racks, but the effort to make it look high tech was pretty convincing.

My Thoughts Be Bloody!
In a sense, one of the key points the story is tending toward arrives right here, in a speech not usually emphasized in productions – although Branagh's Hamlet does recognize it. After all, the careful creation of Fortinbras, laid out in Act I, as identical to Hamlet in being the nephew of a king and son of a slain king, and moreover a king slain by Hamlet's slain king of a father before he was slain, was not done by accident. Fortinbras is Hamlet's shadowing double, like that little French archaeologist in Raiders of the Lost Ark who shadows Harrison Ford, or Quilty to Humbert Humbert for those of you who are Lolita fans, or, um, um. Well, bardseye can't think of any more, and invites his readers to think for him.

Firewall
I went to Border’s and picked up the Mars special Astronomy magazine issue, and the Time special Scientific American issue. I was motivated, after the IMAX. Then, I saw that the new Harrison Ford movie, Firewall, had just started. So I went in. It seemed to be the right thing to do at the moment, since the RSA security conference had just ended.

The Other Ditch
Do you remember the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie where Harrison Ford stands at the edge of a great precipice? He's supposed to step out over the abyss, for he was told that if he did so, a bridge would appear miraculously beneath his feet. He would not fall! Of course he was a little reluctant to try his luck, but the situation, you may recall, left him no choice. There was no turning back. So he takes the fateful step and sure enough a stone arch appears beneath his feet. See? You just gotta believe!

According to Bitsofnews.com, The 4th Indiana Jones movie is set to film after work is completed on the the final installment in the Jason Bourne trilogy starring, as usual, Matt Damon. Unfortunately the movie, once again starring Harrison Ford, probably won’t come out until late in 2007, or early 2008.

"We Need More Pacifiers"
Today as Josh and Abby were taking naps, I was listening to Ben playing in the other room. I was in the office trying to look something up, when I heard Ben say “We need more pacifiers.” I was rolling with laughter. I only wish I could add a sound clip so you could hear the way he said it. It was almost like a lieutenant radioing in a request for reinforcements on some epic war movie. I don’t think Harrison Ford could have delivered the line any better.

Plot Continuity
My main criticism with the work is the incontinuity *within* the plot itself (I fully understand and accept that this is not a continuation of the first). Without going deeply into the plot, there are some scenarios where he will start what seems like an arc, but then the arc disappears, without entering into the plot again. It seems like whole parts of the book were created just for the sake of showing artwork, and not progressing plot (to me, plot should always come first in a written work, which this is, despite the medium). It feels like the recent Star Wars movies in that they are really a showcase for Lucas's technique with fully rendered set and have lost any semblence of a cohesive plot and great acting (especially Harrison Ford) that made the first three the classics that they are. Yes, while I do appreciate the eye candy, this is still a graphic novel, and, as such, I expect a cohesive plot and not random interjections of this and that and whatever.

Review: Serenity
In the movie he seems not just driven, but much more conflicted. Joss may be going to far when he predicts Nathan Fillion is the next Harrison Ford, but I have to admit that Fillion certainly deserves to be. Adam Baldwin continues to shine as Jayne, and his ability to turn a two dimensional thug intended for comic relief into a three dimensional thug intended for comic relief is a credit both to his own acting abilities and Joss’s ability to write parts that good actors can sound out and round out.

I think we’re all well aware that Seth McFarlane loves the Indiana Jones movies, but it’s starting to seem like he has an unhealthy man on man type of love for Harrison Ford (which would be somewhat understandable) or… Steven Spielberg (which would just be weird).

The Bluetooth Headset: The Ultimate Weapon
I have a great idea for Bluetooth placement in a feature film to put them over the top. In the 3rd act climax of a hijacking thriller, when the undefinably-ethnic terrorist is finally wrapped up by our hero (a crusty but benign retired cop–think Harrison Ford/Nick Notle) and they grapple on the floor in first class, our hero reaches out and yanks the Bluetooth headset from the terrorist’s ear and jabs it in his eye all in one motion. We get a good shot of the logo of the headset on the closeup of it in his eye. Our hero says, “You’ve been disconnected.” Or some other great line. We can work on this–maybe you have some ideas. But the message will be as clear as the reception on your phone: Bluetooth defeats terrorism. Think about it, Bluetooth. I’m available for copywriting.

NBC Not Dreaming Over Dreamworks Acquistion
Whatever becomes of this possible acquistion, Spielberg is teaming up with Harrison Ford for the fourth Indiana Jones, so he is far and away not leaving the director’s chair. I wonder if this will make his films more interesting. I really haven’t been excited about anything from Spielberg since Jurassic Park (1993). AI was godawful, WOW did not have the wow-factor. Shrek? Good for the kids but a few too many fart jokes to hold my interest. Didn’t even get through the sequel.

Review: Apocalypse Now Redux
I've never seen the original "Apocalypse Now", but I recently watched the extended "Redux" edition, which was stunning. It is one of the more unrealistic war movies, but at the same time one of the best films ever made. The psychological epic will certainly leave most viewers pondering many issues long after the credits roll. Francis Ford Coppola is one of the finest directors ever, and he is helped here by a stellar cast, including Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Laurence Fishburne, and a brief appearance by Harrison Ford.

No list of the best movie series' would be complete without Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones. This is one of the few series where the movies might have actually gotten better as they came out. These movies have humor, romance, adventure, action and even a little taste of historical fiction. Keep in mind, the fifth Indy movie will be out next summer.

Han Solo
I have always been a fan of Star Wars for many of the same reasons you have mentioned. One of the strongest qualities of the six episode series has been the character development and connecting the story to the audience (relatibility). So many action flicks pay no attention or effort to relating the characters to the audience, and therefore when a spectator views the film, he or she could not give a damn about the characters and the story is thus meaningless. Most action films are mere eye candy, but the Star Wars series raised the bar initially with episodes IV-VI [with characters like Luke, but especially Harrison Ford's Hans Solo].

Memorial Day And Star Wars
After watching Revenge of the sith on opening night (or morning - 12 AM) we decided to watch the older episodes IV-VI. We started watching The Empire Strikes Back (episode V) on Saturday and finished watching it today. It is a good film, perhaps the best of all of them. Harrison Ford is definitely in his prime and Carrie Fisher plays princess Leia as only she could. The scenes in the icy planet (filmed in Norway) are awesome and we finally get introduced to Yoda. Kick Ass Hans Solo
The only Star Wars character I ever liked was Han Solo. Harrison Ford did the most credible acting job in the whole series and created the only really compelling character in my view. Everyone else was reading off of queue cards compared to what he did, and, much unlike almost everyone else in the movie, he actually went on and had a career that was bigger than his Star Wars character afterward. All because of kick ass Han Solo.

Too Cool For School
I saw the violinist Joshua Bell once, he’s pretty close to too cool for school. Scientific American had a profile of Physicist Fotini Markopoulou Kalamara. She is working on unifying theories between relativity and quantum theory to understand the nature of space and time. She is thirty- one and she is peering past the laws of time and space! That, my friends qualifies as too cool for school. For example, Stephen Hawking is too cool for school, Harrison Ford is not. Jimmy Carter could be too cool for school, Shaq is just a basketball player....

Review: K-19: The Widowmaker
This is based on a true story. It’s about a Russian submarine and all its people on board who just had strokes of bad luck, one after the other, resulting in numerous deaths, and not to nice ones at that. Liam Neeson is likable, Harrison Ford is not, and his accent is VERY bad. Bad enough to be amusing. Very dark and serious movie.

Star Wars Memories
Read the whole thing. When Star Wars came out in 1977, I saw it so many times, I’ve lost count. I don’t remember which friends were with me, but I know my two sisters were there. My “baby” brother was still in diapers, I think. It doesn’t matter. All I remember is the movie and how much I wished I lived in that exciting universe. I had crushes on Mark Hamill (who is still married to the wife of his youth) and Harrison Ford, and when The Empire Strikes Back came out, my crush on Billy Dee Williams was renewed.

'Scoop' on Walls: She feared revealing her past poverty
Will Smith is a total charmer, as is Martin Sheen. And Tom Hanks -- if every celebrity was as nice as Tom Hanks, I'd be out of business. Harrison Ford is great on the screen, but he is one of the most unpleasant interviews in the world. He is startlingly inarticulate, and he is not as hunky as he is on the screen. He is small and fleshy and has nothing to say.

NEW DVD RELEASES: Incredible extras, outtakes
We get a lot of inside poop, too, like hearing about some of the actors considered for various voices (George Clooney and Harrison Ford were early candidates for Mr. Incredible, a role that went to Craig T. There are also interviews, if they can be called that, with the animated cast conducted by TV entertainment show journalists.
