Interview with the Vampire
Growing up in a Christian home, my siblings and I were never allowed to watch movies that were rated above our age. To over compensate for our interest in rated R movies, my mom purchased every Disney movie there was. Each time that I thought I had seen them all, mom would bring home another one. I was ten years old when I saw my first rated R movie and I still regret it to this day. My cousin Cassie and I are really close, she is my best friend. She could watch whatever she wanted because her mom was not around that much. One night, we rented a movie off of pay-per-veiw called, “Interview with the Vampire
”, starring Tom Criuse, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst.

Knock, Knock ... It's Brad!
Way-clever: In a special promotion to celebrate it’s 10th Anniversary, Amazon.com has enlisted various celebs to hand deliver orders of “their products” to customers. Jason Alexander made a stop in Brentwood toting Sienfeld DVDs and Jeff Bridges delivered The Big Lebowski in Santa Barbara. Other celebs scheduled to participate include Michael J. Fox and Chris Noth. Excuse me while I go order every movie Brad Pitt is in.

Troy Versus Helen Of Troy
We did watch both Troy and Helen of Troy. Two very different sides to the same story. Troy (the Brad Pitt one) is more centred around Achilles (no surprise, thats Pitt) and his "doom", where as Helen of Troy (the TV movie) is very much centred around Helen, and how she is also doomed from birth - Achilles is basically a thug. Both are worth a look.

Troy on HBO
Just watched Troy on HBO tonight. I’d seen it before, but it’s just so damn good I had to see it again. Besides, who can resist Brad Pitt? It’s one of those great movies with massive war scenes and plenty of up-close action with swords and spears.

Dreamy Johnny, Bad Brad
Ever since Johnny Depp first appeared to me in a dream (in which we hung out at his parents’ house, who were Mormon, and he was the oldest of ten brothers and sisters all of whom named Fawn, and I was kicked out for smoking in the basement), Mr. Depp has become a dreamland benefactor. He comes to me and offers all sorts of positive advice for whatever issue it is I am facing, as in the other night when he gave me advice on how to keep Brad Pitt from breaking up my relationship with Ryan.

Hollywood Today
Welles unwittingly set us on the path toward the utter destabilization of reality with “War of the Worlds,” and then compounded the syndrome with his subsequent film masterpiece “Citizen Kane,” a fictional biography of a thinly disguised William Randolph Hearst that invented the pseudo-journalistic docudrama. But it’s only in the past few years that Welles’s ideas have been taken completely over the top by his trashy heirs. Not only do we have TV movies bastardizing the history of celebrities living and dead, but there is also a steady parade of “real” celebrities playing themselves in their own fictionalized “reality” shows. (This summer alone, Bobby Brown, Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee, Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends and Paris Hilton’s mother are all getting their own series.) The Cruise-Holmes antics, not to mention the concurrent shenanigans of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, add yet another variant to this mix, shrewdly identified by Patrick Goldstein of The Los Angeles Times as “a new rogue genre in which celebrities act out their own reality show, free from the constraints of a network time slot or a staged setting, like a boardroom or a desert island.”

Mr. & Mrs. Smith to Open Next Week
“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is supposedly the movie that broke up Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Ironically, it’s about a deteriorating marriage.
Debuting on June 10th, the movie focuses on husband John (Brad Pitt) and wife Jane (Angelina Jolie), a stale couple leading boring suburban lives. Their marriage, apparently, has grown agonizingly routine. But John has a secret, and so does Jane: They’re two of the world’s most sought-after assassins. The truth comes out only when they’re hired to kill each other by competing organizations.

Celebrity Nonsense Talk
Brad Pitt thinks he is ready to be a father but staying married to a wife for the rest of his life is unnatural. Sounds like a man whose only experience with children consists of junkets to Africa with Angelina Jolie and her child where Pitt can drop in and play - and then go his own way. All the upside fun, none of the downside hardships, and none of the long-term responsibility and commitment.

I Am God
Sims 2 = Kick ass. Yep. Just wanted to share a few screen shots with you people. My sim, based off of me, is pretty happily married to Jayson. But Jayson needs therapy, and Kristin is cheating on him with Brad Pitt. (Yes, I really do have a Sim named Brad Pitt, and no, it wasn’t my intention to cheat on Jayson when I made him. He is also married, to Jennifer Aniston. I was in mourning.)

Review: Sinbad - Legend of the Seven Seas
This is a Walt Disney movie. Brad Pitt does the voice of Sinbad, and Catherine Zeta-Jones his lover (in the end). I already forgot the names. Although 3D animation has improved vastly over the years, I think the qualityof Disney’s movies have gone down. The story was disappointing and everything just fell flat from the start. Too predictable. Disney lost its spark or maybe I just got old, because I can still remember how fascinated I was with Little Mermaid and all the happy and dark songs along with it….

Another Blogger Review of Troy
I watched Troy last night. I wasn’t expecting much but it was OK. Not great just OK. I’ve had too much classical education because I spent most of the movie comparing it with the real version. Copious amounts of Brad Pitt but he wasn’t that appealing. Dirty, sweaty and stringy haired but not the least bit attractive. So what is the deal with American actors putting on a British accent for movies like this? KP thinks maybe they adopt an accent when doing very *serious* movies. Its weird...

Brad Pitt Buys Rights to Infernal Affairs
I grabbed a couple of (non-pirate) DVDs in Hong Kong which I've been watching this week. Last night was Infernal Affairs and Infernal Affairs II. It starts like a typical Hong Kong movie / rock video with faces shown so fast you don't know who is who, but then it gets into a rather complicated story. Infernal Affairs needs to be seen by any fan of cop and mafia films--it's really quite complicated and very interesting. The rights to both have been bought by Brad Pitt and he is preparing a remake for the US audiences.

Movie Review: Troy Panned
Starring: Brad Pitt's butt and chiseled abs, Legolas, Boromir, Peter O'Toole (who should have known better), 300 Hungarians and 500 Mexicans (I watched some of the extras).
The acting was uniformly awful. Everyone over-acted as much as they could. They seemed to be trying to outdo themselves, like it was a contest. The only exception to this was Brad Pitt, who kept the same face on no matter what he was doing - killing people, screwing people, annoying people or dying (oops, did I give that away - sorry!).
The one exception to the above statement was Brad Pitt as Achilles. Of course, everyone knows the legend of Achilles: can't be hurt, except in his heel. This is because some of his genes are divine (his mother, I think, was a god of some kind). This fact is not mentioned in the movie. In fact, Achilles is introduced as some great fighter, and no one explains why he is so good. Or that he is invulnerable. The first time in the movie that any actual weapon touches him is when a dumb arrow smacks him in the heel (of course, Legolas fires it: couldn't they have given him some other weapon? We already have seen him shoot arrows for three movies). This sort of misses the whole invulnerable point, I thought. I mean, no one really knows (according to the movie) that he's invulnerable, since no one every really gets a swing at him. Again, this sort of removes any "divineness" of the whole thing.
In sum: do not watch this movie unless you are completely desperate (and drunk), are in love with Brad Pitt (who is really, really hot in this), or need an example of how to most efficiently piss away $100million (or whatever the budget was on this).
