Movie Reviews: Butterfly Effect
I was expecting this to be a teenie-bopper, MTV-style psuedo-drama. “Oh no, Ashton Kutcher is in a wheelchair. Isn’t that sad? Now Amy Smart will have sex with him.”

A Thoroughly Entertaining Diversion
To see the celebrity results I got on my photo, click here. Of course, part of the reason I’m touting this technology is because it says I most resemble Kiera Knightley. But then again, it also says I resemble Cole Porter….. AND Billy resembles Haley Joel Osment and Hilary Rodham Clinton (what the….!!!)…. Joy resembles Ashton Kutcher, Christy Turlington and Billy Idol (and apparently both of my children also resemble Kiera Knightley), and best of all…..Ronny resembles Halle Berry!

Not Much Range
I had borrowed all three Harry Potter DVDs from my mom, so I watched those that night. I had thought about decorating for Christmas, but couldn’t get into the mood. Friday I didn’t do too much. I knew I didn’t want to be out near any place where there would be shopping because I knew it would be crazy. So I just stayed in and watched more movies. I watched Just Married and Kilometer Zero, both were ok. I really don’t like Ashton Kutcher, but I do like Brittany Murphy. It just seems like Ashton Kutcher plays the same character in just about every movie. He’s like Jim Carrey, not much range.

Weekend Of Crap
5. Failed to do anthing else productive except watch a bunch of tv. Including ‘The Butterfly Effect‘ with Ashton Kutcher, which i surprisingly recommend and is probably the only good work to come out of that peice of feces, as well as ‘The Puppet Masters‘ with Donald Sutherland, which i dont recommend even though i have respect for Sutherland as an actor.

Review: Guess Who?
I saw the movie “Guess Who?” tonight at the Roxy in Santa Rosa with Katie. We only saw it because there is nothing else out worthy of $9.25. It started off pretty horribly, but became more palatable as it went on. I think Bernie Mac can be pretty funny. I detest Ashton Kutcher, but he was not bad in this movie. “Guess Who?” is a remake of 1967’s “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”. In the original version, a white girl brings home a black guy to her lily white parents. In this 2005 version, a black girl brings home Ashton Kutcher to Bernie Mac and the fam. Bernie Mac is funny in this and it’s a good movie all around if you’re not expecting much.

Confessions of a Geek Lover
Case in point: Ashton Kutcher’s latest reality TV entry, Beauty and the Geek. Yeah, I was ready to be ashamed I’d watched it, but I’m actually not. I’ll admit to a little snickering over some of the “beauties’” all too apparent lack of IQ (and readily apparent love of tanning booths and hair spray) but what’s really charming about the show is the guys. Smart, shy, nice guys. I pledged my fealty to little Joe, who made me want to hug him every time he was on screen.

Beauty And The Geek Catching On?
I would also recommend catching beauty and the geek tonight. Besides featuring a Brandeis graduate as a huge nerd, it actually is something of the “social experiment” Ashton Kutcher claims it to be. Judging by the pilot alone it is the best reality show I have caught since Bands on the Run, which really was top notch and will hopefully get a DVD release eventually.

Radical Reviews: Guess Who
In Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967), a white liberal couple (Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn) must deal with their mixed emotions when their daughter brings home a black fiancée (Sydney Poitier) and announces that they must grant her approval (or not) by the end of that same night. Adding to the confusion is the couple’s disapproving black maid and the fiancée’s parents, who also join the dinner party unexpectedly. Guess Who (2005) has a successful black couple dealing with the same when their daughter brings home a white fiancée...

Beauty And The Geek
Very interesting. There's this new reality tv show created by ashton kutcher called "Beauty and the Geek". It airs one WB, tuesdays @ 8/7c... The concept is to have 7 girls together with 7 geeks... it's like survivor-slash-for love or money-slash-all reality shows put together to insinuate a new one. The concept is something new but the way it was delivered was kinda rude... It makes so-called geek guys look like they're autistic and suffering ADHD all at the same time while the all-so-pretty-girls looked like people who made the notion "beauty no brains" speak for...

Boycott Liberalism
The final boycott of the day can be found at Boycott Liberalism where, well, they want to boycott practically everything. This week they've blacklisted The Eagles Live in Australia on NBC, Newsweek magazine, Willie Nelson's album The Ghost, The Dave Matthews Band's album Stand Up, and Ashton Kutcher's new movie A Lot Like Love. If the wackos at Boycott Liberalism advocate banning these evil liberal heathens, that means they must be worth checking out.

Busiest Memorial Day Weekend Ever For Gossip Columnists
Among the many awful things that occured in the lives of starz, Paris Hilton got engaged to herself after upsetting our government by making an ad for cheeseburgers with no pants on, Christian Slater got arrested for grabbing a woman's ass, Tom Cruise revealed the depth of his caring about your mental health in an intense and thoroughly disturbing interview with President-relative Billy Bush, Oliver Stone continued in his persistent need to sabotage his career, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher maybe got married but no one is sure yet, and Eddie Albert...

Kutcher And Costner Team Up
-- Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher are teaming up for THE GUARDIAN, an action-drama. The story centers on a rebellious young man who enlists in the Coast Guard where he forms a mentor-friendship with a legendary rescue swimmer who lost his crew in a fatal crash. Andrew Davis (THE FUGITIVE) is directing. Actually, I can't improve on a comment left at AICN: "Is there a scene where Kutcher gets swarmed by over-eager fans, so Costner picks him up and carries him in his arms to safety?"

Ashton Kutcher Fan
I like Ashton Kutcher the more I see of him away from That 70's Show. He was very much at ease playing the quick-witted future groom to Zoe Saldana (make a note to watch for more from her in the future).

Ashton: 3-Pump Chump
Demi Moore’s been left trying to dig herself out of a hole after supposedly slating boyfriend Ashton Kutcher bed skills. The Indecent Proposal star supposedly revealed he has a tendency of jumping the gun, shall we say, when it comes to love making. Demi reportedly made the indiscretions in a chat with designer Cynthia Rowley.

Review: The Butterfly Effect
For those of us with the lowered expectations associated with an Ashton Kutcher project, The Butterfly Effect is a pleasant surprise. It's yet another experiment with the idea of "What if?" It's A Wonderful Life did it with class, Groundhog Day did it with humor, and now The Butterfly Effect does it with depression and horror.

Hollywood Box Office Blues
Whatever the case, Kingdom of Heaven is not alone. What about the other movies being shown right now? House of Wax starring rich socialite Paris Hilton? The Interpreter, another movie about espionage that doesn't reflect the real espionage of our times? A Lot Like Love, Ashton Kutcher's latest attempt at acting? The Amityville Horror, another cheesy horror remake that's based on a true story that isn't really true? Monster-in-Law, another J-Lo attempt to keep her star afloat?

Review: A Lot Like Love
I've come to determine that the quality of your acting abilities should guide how long your movie can be. This little gem with Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet was 1 hour and 47 minutes long. These two actors do not warrant a movie that long. Come on his claim to fame is his girlfriend and she just likes to be naked. I swear that girl is all about which body parts she can show.

A Lot Like Love
Ashton Kutcher isn’t a great actor. Let’s face it he isn’t going to win any acting awards anytime in the near future. However he is quite competent at playing variations of Kelso the character that made him famous on the hit FOX series That 70’s Show. Kelso is bumbling, inept and manages to posses an uncanny combination of insecurity and confidence. Kutcher’s film roles don’t stray much from that formula and his character Oliver in his new movie A Lot Like Love isn’t an exception to the rule. While being light-years ahead of Kelso...

Review: Sledge Hammer! Season Two DVD
On to the show, Sledge Hammer aired on ABC for two seasons on ABC in the mid 80’s, 1986 to 1987 to be exact. The show was hilarious and it is truly remarkable that such a cult classic that only ran for two seasons made it to DVD. Fans truly should be grateful to the shows creator Alan Spencer and Anchor Bay for bringing this show to DVD. The show was a spoof of cop shows, but the writing was so good, that the laughs weren’t always laugh out loud laughs, but if you paid attention and got the joke, you were bound to chuckle. The lead...

Dear Blockbuster Video
I think I learned a valuable lesson here. Number one, your company sucks, and number two, the people that think your selection is great also suck. Don’t worry local Blockbuster, I’ll probably still be a patron for when the time comes that I feel compelled to see an Ashton Kutcher movie or something equally dumb.
