Brook Burke Eats at Burger King?
And I didn't realize that was Brooke Burke at the end of the ad, either. Show of hands here - who thinks Brooke Burke has ever eaten at Burger King in her life? Yeah, me neither.
Brooke Burke might have had a salad there once. She also might like the new Enormous Omelet (more information at: http://www.bk.com/). You never know. :-)

Collateral
Tom Cruise plays the bad guy. He’s got grey hair. It doesn’t feel right somehow. Tom Cruise is some badass mofo who hails a cab to drive round LA doing a bunch of naughty deeds. Jamie Foxx is the innocent victim cabbie, who’s a bit thick but secretly lovable and strong and assertive when he needs to be (right at the end of the film, noless).
I thought Collateral was ok, nothing more though. The acting was good (especially from Jamie Foxx) and I suppose it had an original storyline but it wasn’t anything groundbreakingly spectacular, nor was it a film I’d sit through again. And I agree, Tom Cruise with the grey hair playing the bad guy didn’t feel right!

Culture Wars

Kingdom of Heaven
The trailer for the new Ridley Scott film is impressive (he directed Gladiator, apparently). For one thing, Orlando Bloom has returned to has sword/armour niche and that is a good thing. But I expect it is too much to hope a film addressing the Crusades will do so in anything like an even-handed fashion.

Million Dollar Baby - Blogger View
Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank) started working when she was 13, for nearly 30 years she had been on her own, working as a waitress, eating customer leftovers, saving up her money and looking for the purpose of her life. When she was 31 she decided to take a chance in boxing, and she fought her way through and gave everything she had. However she was beaten by her own luck, a tragic injury that she could never recover from. What was the first thing she said? “Tell Frankie that I am sorry, I should’ve protect myself, I shouldn’t have turn”

Collateral
Michael Mann's Collateral is a film of many small virtues, notably its modesty. For a Tom Cruise vehicle, it's surprisingly free of affectation. Cruise's own performance as the heavy is quite disciplined -- despite the character's built-in potential for over-the-top hamminess. Cruise also deserves praise for making room for Jamie Foxx's fine turn as the reluctant, didn't-know-he-had-it-in-him hero. (If it had been up to me, Foxx would have won the Best Supporting...

The Luckiest (and least talented) Man in Show Business
About 10 years ago 2 kids from Boston rose up from their alleged average joe lifestyles and took Hollywood by storm with the movie "Good Will Hunting". Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, testaments to the American Dream, proof that if you have talent and drive, you can do anything in this great country. Yeah right, it is a testament to the fact that hard work and talent have nothing to do with success while luck has everything to do with it. I truly believe that Ben Affleck is the worst actor maybe ever to grace major motion pictures. It is a veritable kick in the nuts every time I think about the fact that this no talent ass clown is a multimillionaire and a sign of what is desired in modern artistic expression.
"Everyone who said Ben Affleck couldn't do worse than "Gigli" was lying to themselves. He's killed patriotism in "Pearl Harbor," science fiction in "Phantoms," and even sexual freedom in "Chasing Amy.""
This is not even his complete body of work as there are many more "hits" to ad to this list. Any movie that happened to be good that included him did so irrespective of his complete lack of talent. Matt Damon on the other hand is an excellent actor and the true mind behind Good Will Hunting. Had they never met, Ben Affleck would be home jerking off to pictures of Jennifer Lopez rather then bending her over his sofa. Affleck rode his buddy's coattails to the top, and as soon as they went their separate ways he went straight down hill, the sad things is we still pay him millions.
Truth be told, Ben Affleck has excelled in his career and reached a pinnacle that very few ever get to reach. He is in a position to transmit artistic expression to millions of people at any given time, and he is bad at what he does. Talent and hard work have nothing to do with success, it is all luck, and deep down Ben knows this as well.

Bloom as Bond?
Dark Horizons.net is reporting that a move is afoot to cast “British hunk” Orlando Bloom as a young James Bond, in order to kick-start a new franchise based on the exploits of a more youthful 007. This from Sky News:
Sky Movies reports the British hunk is in serious talks about a series of films based on an idea by a new author about the early life of the MI6 agent. Bloom says “I love the idea, in principle, as he can be far more adventurous and do more stunts. This is as near as I think I will get to playing the grown up James for the next 20 years.”

Vince, Give It a Rest
There's no guessing game to be played when talking about Vince Vaughn's romantic attraction to Hollywood starlett Jennifer Aniston. At a recent premiere for the movie The Ring Two, Vaughn was seen snuggling up to Aniston at a corner booth. With the not-so-chummy couple were Vaughn friends Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson. The Pitt-free Aniston was obvious in her lack of interest for Vaughn, which caused the bloated-actor to down three shots in five seconds, eat an entire mini-pizza on his own, and turn his attentions toward a Rosie O'Donnell look-alike, with whom he left the party soon after. All we can say to Vince is -- be careful!Paul Davidson is the source of the best gossip in Hollywood, bar none. Check out his blog!

So I was just listening to the radio, and this song "Rich Girl" comes on by Gwen Stefani. It has one of those heavy one note catchy bass lines that is present in almost every song on G105 today. Ben Affleck, Box Office Poison
Q: Ok, so your movie question is how do you take one of the most successful movie franchises, one of the most anticipated films and kill that project?
A: Well, if you have been following, you already know the answer is to cast Ben Affleck. Yet, that is what looks to be happening. Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck
