Hilary Swank got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, and after giving a humble acceptance speech (trailer parks... rolls of quarters... following your dreams... biscuits and gravy), she did something unusual – she acknowledged the crowd and signed autographs. I go to a lot of these ceremonies and, trust me, rarely do the stars get close to the weirdo Hollywood crowd.

Perhaps best known for the role of Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings films, Viggo Mortensen’s talents go far beyond just being an actor. He is also an accomplished painter and photographer. He has had a number of exhibitions of his work throughout the world. The image posted here is “Ride 26” by Viggo Mortensen. Some examples of a trailer that’s better than the movie is Jarhead, which we have playing on a screen at work. The trailer, not the movie. For anyone who has seen the movie, you’d know about the complete lack of action in the whole thing. I mean, the movie is basically about soldiers that sat on their ass during Desert Storm. I’m not saying it wasn’t a good movie but the trailer…I mean, it had tons of fast cutting flashes of action mixed with Kanye West’s Jesus Walks. It looks epic.

Recently I've been seeing frequent articles about the decline of the film industry's profit due to internet piracy. Piracy has been a problem long before the internet was in every home, yet when they don't see a result they like piracy gets blamed. How many people would rather see a film on the big screen? I know I do. I love going to the movies. At 10.50 a pop the only time we go anymore is to see huge special effects films like Pirates of the Carribean. I have a theory that there are two reasons why the film industry's profits are decreasing.

She is in great shape, so why not sell that instead of bad acting? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always liked Jennifer Aniston. She’s pretty, she’s funny and her last memorable movie character was in Office Space back in 1999.

I was expecting this to be a teenie-bopper, MTV-style psuedo-drama. “Oh no, Ashton Kutcher is in a wheelchair. Isn’t that sad? Now Amy Smart will have sex with him.”
